Could I really make money off of Etsy?

I just recently discovered Etsy and want to start selling crafts. The crafts I want to sell in particular are hemp jewelry such as bracelets and necklaces. Are there any people who sell on Etsy on here? How many items do you sell weekly and monthly? And how much money do you earn regularly?

I’m a new seller on Etsy. I’ve been on there for about three months and here is my take on it. If you make good products, take wonderful photos of your products and you diligently promote your shop, you will be successful.

I’ve had about 13 sales since I started, which I think is a good start for me. I’m a full time student so I don’t have as much time to promote as other sellers do. Most of my sales were from the month of May/June. It takes awhile to jumpstart your shop because no one knows about you when you open shop. You have to promote it like crazy so people will notice you! Realistically, you won’t earn enough money to pay your rent or anything unless you are consigning with a shop. But if you’re already making all this jewelry and don’t know what to do with it, you should just try Etsy out and see how it works for you.

Also, I suggest clicking the “community” link on Etsy’s website and checking out their forums. They have lots of information and advice from veteran sellers on Etsy.
