Life Imitates Art: If I Am A Sage

If I Am A Sage

I know of an age old question that two seekers may ponder together. Does life imitate art or does art imitate life? Art is fantasy. Fantasy becomes reality. Life imitates art. Dreams and figments or figures of the imagination become real people, real things, real events, and real places. God, the Tao or the Sage speaks about such visions.

In the Bhagavad-Gita, one with a “great spirit” can experience “boundless divinity (624).” Much like memory, God gave me moments of clarity.

Art is fantasy. Motion pictures are art because they are fantasies. Hence, know how to open the door, and how to act when art, life, and divinity knocks. They are all workings of the human mind turned into something living and tangible. This is what permeates everything and is everything. Ideas start out as figures in our brains; they become tape, paper, film, and so forth.

God is an author when he creates the world. For example, the quote “let there be light” reminds me of manifest destiny (53). However, if the voice of creation is God then one must think about authority figures, teachers, elders, guardians who all speak with the voice of a creator. God said “let the waters bring forth abundantly” on the fourth day (53). This came down in the form of a hurricane. This dream come true experience absolutely reminds me of the Tao and the Sage.

Noah made an ark and God gave him detailed plans. Instead of telling me detailed plans like what type of wood an ark is to be made up of, the Lord knew I was merely making songs and videos. God did not give me detailed plans. God gave me natural ability to capture the divine in people; God granted me gifts to create sketches of the future. For me, life imitates art.

Life imitates art. I made a movie about catching leprechauns; and in the motion picture, I chased them down, got them to show me and tell me where was the gold. I then made my current life around this piece of art, took what I thought was a finished product across the country to California. Fate and destiny knocked again hence I am in metro Detroit.

I felt that God had warned me before the $86 billion dollar hurricane hit and thus made a covenant with me like Noah. Although I could not express it to others, I lead via deed and action. I found the quote: “it is not good that the man shall be alone (54).” On my journey, I had two tangible rewards in the form of a guardian I met in Santa Barbara and also a sex teacher / goddess in metro Detroit. I created poetry and exotic fantasies on the beach, with an island on the horizon in Santa Barbara. I put my fantasies onto paper. Even though God did not tell me exactly what to do, something inside of me told me to create a movie and start writing on that same beach. This life I was leading was richer than all of my fantasies combined and I trace that back to creating wealth via putting my fantasies in tangible art forms.

Dreams become reality. My dream of an ancient lifelike village starts with me as a shaman or leader warning the people that my village is about to be attacked by a terrible storm that is brewing. My people listened and agreed to change and before I awoke on the happy morning before my long journey, I saw a rising yellow sun over a huge mountain at the orange horizon. By the time the large white eye of the Hurricane hit New Orleans, I was in Detroit, Mi, looking at purple flowers, gold, platinum and diamond records in and around my new stomping grounds. It was a hot sunny day, bright and wide eyed August was smiling down upon me, and there was a red sun setting as I watched the world go by from my roof.

Chuang Tzu says the Tao is “the transformation of things (565).” Who is in control of this change? I think the text says it is the Sage. I was lucky. The cliché is the harder you work, the luckier you get. Work can be toil or travel or art. My life is a shining example of life imitating art so yes, smile appreciatively, and accept success when the universe grants you the wishes and desires of your heart. It is interesting how it works out both in dreams and art.

The text regards the Sage as one who can understand the language of dreams. It also states that the sage is one who steers through “doubt and chaos (564).” This is interesting because this sounds like a mogul or CEO running a multimillion or billion dollar company. This reminds me of people I know who are in positions of power and authority.

Of course, if I collaborate with these persons, I may have a chance to be a Sage. People I I know who are in positions to make dreams come true endeavor to keep trying. They endure, exert themselves, bend over backwards, undertake new ventures, apply themselves and give their all in whatever they do. I admire these folks. They shoot, stab, bid, strive, aim, aspire and accomplish great things. They make moves. They exploit, do generous deeds, and sweat.

I would think a Sage is a hero to make these commands, orders and instructions. When they utter or wish or make a pitch, they try to obtain tender offers. They enjoin, and direct people. They charge like a judge.

If I am not yet a Sage, then what can I do to become one? Sages turn dreams into reality. They are masters of their craft. Sages know life imitates art. Sages think art is fantasy. Of course, one could argue that Sages have more drive, ambition, dynamism, cleverness, enthusiasm, imagination, resourcefulness, originality, oomph and initiative. Their energy and boldness drives corporations, companies, firms and business.

In the Bhagavad-Gita, the Lord is one of discipline. “I exist in all creatures” and “see identity in everything” says this Lord (624). “Disciplined” individuals know “harmony with the divine” and “perfect joy” like a Dali painting (622). With the help of God, one manifests “the light of a thousand suns (622).”

I can read to myself these quotes and think they are similar to my life, for I have manifested things from visions. The visions may not have been exactly as I envisioned them but the daring, leadership, gumption, blood, and projects are a known part of me; hence, I believe I am worthy of Sage status. Does that mean I will have to start thriving in “chaos and doubt?” Does that mean I will have to “steer” through these things and let “chaos” reign? If so, I am ready. I say I am worthy and deem anyone else worthy. I have shown examples of my ability to manifest although fate has its way of turning and twisting it into unforeseen abundance. I am not a prophet and nor is the Sage. If I am not yet a Sage, I can simply understand, entertain, act, plan, and exert enterprises and do my damnedest until I become one.
